Off road karts are much more robust than outdoor karts. They have much bigger wheels to handle the uneven terrain, a roll bar and cage over the kart itself and a safety harness to prevent you from throwing yourself about the kart as you negotiate the course!
The actual events usually takes two forms, against the clock or head to head racing. Both are great driving experiences and will really get your adrenalin pumping. Total carnage.
